Long exposure workshops

Are you interested in learning the fascinating art of long exposure photography?

If you like my work and would like to be able to take and process your images in a similar way I’d be happy to help you achieve this goal.

I frequently run whole or half-day long exposure workshops either in London and Kent, Essex, Surry and Sussex teaching understanding of exposure metering, various composition-for-impact approaches, proper lens and filters selection and image post-processing in Lightroom and Silver Efex Pro.

The workshop will be tailored specifically to your needs and interests to make sure you get the most out of the session. The four hour session runs from 10am – 3pm, while the full day (8 hours) session is more flexible.

What you need:

Most importantly: willingness to learn new, at time challenging things. A tripod and natural density filters would not come amiss but if you do not have any I am happy to let you use my spare ones.

Fitness level:

The fitness level required will depend on the location where the workshop takes place, but the exact locations can be chosen according to your level of fitness.

I recently had a full day 1 -1 workshop with Derek in London. He gave me lots of options in regards to locations and we settled on the Shard then moving onto Docklands. Derek went through the steps you need to take in the "technical" side but also encouraged taking time to really look at a scene. I feel a lot more confident now with long exposure photography thanks to Derek explaining it so well. Derek also suggested I send him a RAW file to look at which is a nice touch. Thank you for a great day.

I am not affiliated with any ND filters / tripod /bag manufacturer  so there is no pushing any of the products on you. If you require advise on any of those products am always happy to offer it from my experience.
